AZ Oostende introduces a children's website
AZ Oostende, formed from the merger of AZ Damiaan and AZ Henri Serruys, has recently launched an important project to create a child-friendly subsite. That's right, a website specifically designed for the youngest patients. This new site is aimed not only at young patients but also their parents. Its goal is to inform parents and children in a visually appealing and understandable way.

I am genuinely happy with the website. The children's website still reflects our house style, but with a playful touch.
Customer Request
In the final phase of the merger project, special attention had to be given to a very important but vulnerable group: children.
There was a need for a platform that is not only informative and user-friendly for adults but also attractive and accessible for younger users. The design needed to effectively reach and engage both parents and children in their care process.
Our Solution
The solution was the creation of a subsite integrated within the existing online platform of AZ Oostende. This children's website was designed to brighten up the content with a ‘kid-friendly’ style. This included the use of bright and cheerful colors and the implementation of a playful font that would appeal to younger users.
The Paddle CMS Platform is very intuitive, allowing you to perfectly customize the entire website.

Our development team worked closely with educational experts to ensure that the content was suitable for children. This included not only the visual elements but also the way information was presented. Every aspect of the website was designed with user-friendliness and accessibility for children in mind.
The Result
The result was a visually appealing website that stands out. The combination of strong visuals, fresh colors, and a playful font made the subsite both informative and inviting. Feedback from users, both parents and children, was overwhelmingly positive. Children found the website 'fun and cool,' while parents appreciated the clear and understandable presentation of information.
We have realized how challenging it is to manage both a merger and the creation of a website effectively. It has demanded a lot from our organization. There are still areas for improvement, but we already know how to implement the optimizations ourselves. The result is certainly something to be proud of.

The children's website of AZ Oostende is an excellent example of how hospitals can use technology to better communicate with young patients and their families.
By focusing on visual appeal and accessibility, AZ Oostende has taken an important step towards a more inclusive approach to patient care, with the needs of children at its heart.
