City of Lier
New Urban and Tourism Website, an Intranet: The Case
Our Approach
Naomi served as the single point of contact (SPOC) as project manager throughout the entire process. We immediately started with the preliminary phase of the website. The graphic design was executed by our designer based on the developed house style.
Planned Developments:
- The integration with Ultimo ensures that submissions via web forms are immediately received in their Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system.
- The integration with Azure Active Directory (AD) ensures that staff members are instantly logged into the intranet using their AD account.
After the training sessions on Writing for the Web and training for the editorial team, the City of Lier was responsible for the content development of the website and intranet.
During the website development, it was decided to also build an additional subsite for WZC Paradijs.
The city website with the subsite for WZC Paradijs and the intranet went live in March 2021.
Visit Lier
The city of Lier needed a renewed tourism website where visitors could easily find the most beautiful spots in Lier.
After the analysis, it was clear what the expectations of the visitors and employees of Lier were. We started developing a new design.
After the approval and integration of the design, the employees of the City of Lier began adding Dutch content to the website. This was done after attending three training sessions. The visitlier.be website is available in multiple languages through an excellent collaboration with a translation agency.
Shopping in Lier
The city of Lier wanted to renew their existing website for merchants and integrate it into the Visit Lier website.
Merchants can log in, manage their own pages, and even post and update news items and events on this subsite.
Woonzorgcentrum Paradijs
For WZC Paradijs, the city of Lier wanted to include a subsite for the care center within the city website. Specific customized roles were needed for managing the website. The site had to have a tailored look and feel.
Intranet
The intranet of the City of Lier is built based on integration with Active Directory using AD Connect. As soon as the current external application Lima allows, general personnel and contact details for the who-is-who module must also be retrieved from AD. It is possible to include links to files on SharePoint within the intranet.
