New website: the experiences of project manager Kerensa Verhoosel
Why a brand new website for Cultuurtuin WAAS?
In 2021, our brand new website cultuurtuinwaas.be was launched. The sub-site is a part of the coordinating interwaas.be website.
We immediately started with preparatory sessions, training and a user survey. The results contributed to an ideal navigation structure, always with the user in mind.
How did you experience personal support?
At the start, project manager Naomi gave several training sessions that gave us the necessary clarity to get started. The training on writing for the web was clear and hands-on. The points of attention that emerged were important for the course of the project. The preparatory sessions were also strong and relevant for the construction of our websites. Personal support is worth its weight in gold. The support is absolutely fantastic.

How do you experience the daily use of the CMS Platform?
In the beginning, it was a bit of a search with all the new features, but the project manager was always ready to help. Questions were always answered within 24 hours. The training courses ensure that you can work with your website yourself. You can easily adapt your website yourself, and place pages offline and online. The colleagues from Interwaas and Cultuurtuin WAAS work in the same media centre and therefore share the same photo file. However, this is not a problem because the images can easily be labelled.
The freedom in the CMS platform is great. The large editor allows you to play with the design, matching the content of the page. Moreover, the CMS Platform offers benefits such as mobile-friendliness (responsive design) and accessibility.

How did the visually strong website come about?
We provided our inspiration guide and the designers went to work on it. Especially the playfulness and dynamics of the website was an important starting point for us. Paddle knew how to tackle this challenge and achieve beautiful results. Thanks to this this bold approach, Paddle has strengthened our corporate identity.

What is the most important tip you want to give your colleagues?
Dare to ask. At Paddle, they are ready to help you. It is also important to choose a CMS Platform that includes advantages such as mobile-friendliness (responsive design) or other points of interest that you might not think about at the start of the project.
Additionally, preparatory sessions are necessary to know where the focus should be in the function of the visitor. Finally, it is a good idea to have the website viewed by a broad group of people during the final sprint, such as a colleague, neighbour, or friend.
