GO! MSKA Roeselare has a new website thanks to the GO! onderwijs framework agreement
In conversation with Charlot Vermeeren from GO! MSKA Roeselare
GO! MSKA Roeselare recently got a new website in the Paddle CMS (Content Management System). How did this come along?
Thanks to the GO! framework agreement, it was possible to renew our school website. Our old school website was built on the previous version of the Paddle CMS Platform, so the transition to the new software could be done quickly. Our school registered for a demo session and then selected a design. There are various templates available for schools to choose from. The change was much needed because over time, the structure of the website had been lost.
The Paddle CMS is incredibly user-friendly. And there is absolutely no need for technical knowledge, as Paddle configures all the modules you need in your school website.

How satisfied is your school with the GO! theme?
It's great that you can choose a design to build upon. The design and interface are flexible, which gives you a lot of freedom. The CMS works with blocks where you can add different components (image, text, video, and more) that you can easily move and duplicate.
Is it easy to modify your web pages?
At first, it took some time to get used to the new CMS. After the training, I could easily start working on my own. I find it convenient to navigate from the dashboard, which allows me to quickly see which pages still need to be reviewed.
Our school frequently makes changes to the homepage. Additionally, we regularly add news articles. It always goes smoothly.
Are you satisfied with the personal guidance your school received?
I took an online training to master the new Paddle CMS. After the demo, you can consult the frequently asked questions in the helpdesk. If an answer or procedure is unclear, you can contact the helpdesk through various means, and a staff member quickly assists us.
Do you work together within the school to make adjustments to the website? How does that process go?
I take care of managing the website. In the new CMS, it's convenient that you can quickly add different components to a web page, such as images, news, or videos. This saves time.
Two years ago, someone took over the website for a while. With a quick explanation, they were able to handle it smoothly. Additionally, a colleague can also attend a demo session and then start working on their own.
Do you have any tips for schools that need a new website?
First of all, make sure your website is easily searchable by placing information in logical locations. For our school, it is particularly important to highlight our available study programs and the process for ordering school books.
Make the website visually appealing as well. We chose to feature a photo of the school playground prominently on the homepage and used eye-catching colors to make the website stand out.
Since our school wants to showcase the new website, we share news articles on social media and other platforms such as Smartschool. We also refer to the website for the school regulations.
As a final tip, choose a website platform that allows you to easily do a lot yourself. Not only is it convenient, but the Paddle CMS is also particularly user-friendly for making adjustments. And there is absolutely no need for technical knowledge, as Paddle configures all the modules you need on your school website. The website is now more organised, and the design has been refreshed. We have received many positive comments and reactions from parents and teachers.
