What does Police zone KASTZE do?
Police Zone KASTZE serves the municipalities of Kampenhout, Steenokkerzeel, and Zemst in the province of Flemish Brabant. KASTZE embraces a simple yet powerful slogan that underscores their dedication to the community: "We have eye for you."
This expresses a promise to every citizen, a commitment that the police zone is here to serve, support, and protect. Whether it’s ensuring safety, offering support, or simply providing a listening ear. Police Zone KASTZE emphasizes their presence for everyone in the community. This inclusive message fosters trust and connection, forming the basis for all their services and interactions.
KASTZE looks ahead
The team began by revising their visual identity, aiming to give their presence a fresher look and clearly emphasize their vision for quality service. This renewal led them to critically examine their website. The goal was to make it a user-friendly channel for citizen interaction.
Many police zone websites are similar because they use a central platform designed by the Federal Police. While this provides visual uniformity, it also limits creativity and flexibility in content management.
Managing police websites can be complex. They are sometimes perceived as user-unfriendly or even outdated due to extensive and complicated menu and navigation structures. Police Zone KASTZE saw this as an opportunity for improvement.
For us, it was a challenge we eagerly accepted. A perfect opportunity to combine expertise and innovation.
Our Solution
A Thorough Analysis as the Foundation
Police Zone KASTZE contacted us through the VERA framework agreement.
The collaboration began with a kick-off meeting with clear questions. Paddle builds websites for public organizations based on a clear step-by-step plan. In the first phase, we conducted a functional analysis of the existing website and held a card sorting session with the core team to detail the top tasks, navigation structure, and required modules for the new website.
Design and Content
Their team introduced a new logo and wanted to keep its colors, but apart from that, there was no defined visual identity. The challenge was to balance a recognizable 'police' feel without being too dominant or distant. Meeting the client's specific wishes and finding the right tone and style contributed to a successful realization.
Functionality
Besides a fresh look and feel, KASTZE expected certain essential functionalities. The Paddle CMS Platform was already developed, allowing for the quick and flawless implementation of the necessary modules:
- Advanced search function to find the local neighborhood inspector
- Web forms to easily contact the right person within the police zone
- Opening hours to show when visitors can come by
- News posts
- FAQ lists
- ...

Measuring Success
Our client wanted to measure the impact of the new website on their digital performance. Following the motto 'measuring is knowing,' we set up a dashboard in Matomo, allowing the police zone to check visitor statistics at any time.
- What works and what doesn’t?
- Which content is read?
- How many visitors consult the FAQ?
